AgentPrinter vs Lob
The short answer. Pick AgentPrinter to mail one letter, or a few, with no account: no sign-up, no API key and no monthly fee. A 1-page letter is $1.99, paid by card through a link.
Pick Lob when you send mail often from your own software. With a free Developer account a 1-page black and white letter is $1.060, which is $0.93 less than ours, and Lob sells things we do not: Certified Mail, checks, Standard Class and mail to other countries.
Lob is a direct mail platform with an API for letters, postcards, checks and address verification, sold in plans by yearly volume. AgentPrinter mails a letter or a postcard to a US address for one card payment, with no account: you send the document and the address, see the exact preview and the price, and pay through a link.

When Lob is the better choice
- You send mail every week and can keep an API key secret. Lob's price for a 1-page letter is about half of ours, and for a 4×6 postcard about 60%.
- You need Certified Mail, Registered Mail, checks, Standard Class, or mail to another country.
- You send more than a few pieces an hour.
- You design mail as HTML templates and fill in names and amounts for each piece.
When AgentPrinter is the better choice
- You need to mail one letter today and you have no account with anyone.
- An AI agent or a script does the sending, and you do not want to give it an API key or a stored card. It gets a pay link, and a person pays.
- You want to see the exact PDF and the price before you pay.
- You send so little mail that an account, a key and a plan are not worth setting up.
Worth knowing
- AgentPrinter's letters and postcards are printed and mailed by Lob: Lob is our print partner, and we are its customer. So a piece from us comes from the same printer. What differs is how you buy: a plan and a key at Lob, one card payment for each piece here.
- Both prices include printing, the envelope and postage. Lob's Startup and Growth prices need the monthly fee of the plan; our price has no other fee.
